There is a huge amount of speculation surrounding the future of AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. The 18 year old is a regular in Serie A and has recently been called up to the Italy national side. Amid interest from the big clubs Silvio Berlusconi, AC Milan president, made a revelation about the youngsters future.
The interested parties who apparently include both Manchester clubs will not be happy with what the president had to say about the youngster. Berlusconi issued a football manager style ‘hands-off warning’ and stated that the Italian was “completely off the market”.
Some reports state that Manchester City are prepared to pay £130 million for the goalkeeper. An obscene amount of money for any player especially a goalkeeper who are generally seen as a position where you can get a lot for your money. At that price, it would make him the most expensive player in the world.
Berlusconi described Donnarumma as a “gorgeous product of our youth system” and “one of Milan’s jewels”. Famously, the youngster made his Milan debut at the tender age of 16 years and 242 days.
