Manuel Neuer, who fractured his foot in Bayern Munich’s 4-2 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League has said he will ‘give everything to be fit again next season’.

Bayern will not miss the German number one in the Champions League after they were knocked out by Real Madrid. With Neuer’s injury it was very much a double blow.

As all three substitutes had been made, Neuer was forced to continue to complete the game. As a result of his injury he will miss the rest of the Bundesliga campaign as well as any of Bayern Munich’s participation in the German Cup.

The club released a statement on their website detailing the injury saying ‘Manuel Neuer suffered a fracture to his left foot in the 4-2 defeat away to Real Madrid according to initial diagnosis’. Bayern are seeking a fifth straight domestic title and fans will hope that their star keeper is not too much of a loss.
