Just like buses do, for Petr Cech two records were broken against Watford on Sunday.

Firstly Deeney, who had mocked Arsenal in the reverse fixture for their lack of ‘Cojones’, had his penalty saved by Cech. This was Cech’s first penalty save for Arsenal on his 16th attempt.

In keeping Watford out, he secured his 200th Premier League clean sheet, a feat not achieved by any other goalkeeper Englands top flight. This ended a run of 11 league games without keeping a clean sheet.

What did the professionals say?

Rightly so there was an outpour of congratulations for the Czech on social media by his fellow professionals.

Cech was pleased to see Arsenal secure a first Premier League clean sheet since February 3rd. “When you are in the difficult moment and you have a run of results which go against you, you need to look at yourself and find the way out.”
