Despite Loris Karius’s improvement in form in recent weeks since his manager gave him a boost in confidence stating he was the undisputed number one, Liverpool are still rumoured to be interested in a new keeper.

Jack Butland of Stoke City is the man in question and alongside Liverpool, Arsenal are apparently interested in the England international.

Butland is preferred over Alisson, due to his Premier League experience.

Butland may be helped by the World Cup. Should he impress it would be the perfect shop window however he would have to start and that is not nailed on. Pickford, Butland and Nick Pope seem the likely candidates to start in Russia.

Many fans seem not to be impressed with the rumours.

Butland has not shown the same kind of form he did last season before getting injured. He has conceded 47 goals in 27 games he has played albeit behind a poor Stoke defence.
